Soul Temple Wellness
by Monica Espinosa

I honor the place in you that is the same in me. I honor the place in you where the whole universe resides. I honor the place in you of love, of light, of peace and of truth. I honor the place in you that is the same in me. There is but one.....  Namaste

I walk a lifelong journey that began in childhood, inspired by the lineage of women healers in my Mexican family including midwives, herbal healers, and energy workers whose wisdom still guides me. Their stories live within me, guiding my purpose.

From an early age I felt called to the spiritual teachings of the East, seeking to understand the soul and our connection to the universe. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to learn from renowned yoga teachers who honor the ancient roots of the practice.

The deeper I walk this path, the more infinite it becomes. It is my blessing to share these teachings, rooted in tradition, intention, and consciousness, with those who feel called to this journey of awakening.

My Story

My heart is my religion, my body is my temple.

I started my wellness path many years ago in Mexico as a competitive swimmer, where I competed at state and national championships. Those years taught me the value of discipline and mental focus to create change. Later, after university in Mexico, I trained and worked as a spin and fitness trainer. After I moved to Canada I was blessed with three beautiful girls. I took some time to be a mom, one of my greatest, most difficult and rewarding life trainings. When the girls were a little older I continued my education and training path. Today, I am a certified Yoga Therapist RYT 500 hours, I graduated from the Yoga Studio College of Canada, founded by Valery Petrich in 1996, one of the only females who studied directly under B.K.S Iyengar in India, one of the foremost yoga Gurus in the world. I have  specialized in therapeutic yoga for older adults, trauma  (PTSD), chronic pain, arthritis, autoimmune disease, stress relief and other ailments. I primarily follow BKS Iyengar style yoga. I am also trained as a certified Indian Head Massage Therapist (Ayurvedic Yoga branch). As well, I am certified and trained to teach restorative yoga and meditation. Recently I also trained to teach pre-natal yoga. Throughout my practice I integrate imagery visualization techniques, energy healing, meditation, sound and vibrational healing, and aromatherapy.I am based in Calgary, Canada and teach around the city in different yoga studios, community centers and private clubs as well as I have been offering a variety of private one on one sessions and recently during COVID 19, online trainings and classes which turned out to be a ray of light during a time of uncertainty for me personally, and for my lovely yogis.I was also honored to become part of a small group of yoga therapists working together with Calgary Rheumatologist Dr. Steve Edworthy and Kim McNeil BSc RYT, launching Yoga for Rheumatic Conditions, one of the first such treatment collaborations in North America. I also specialize in Yoga for Stroke Recovery, teaching yoga therapy weekly  to  the Stroke Recovery Association of Calgary. In my practice I strive to provide a safe and nurturing space to heal and to reconnect with yourself. The more I learn it seems the less I know so I try to continuously expand my skills and knowledge through advanced trainings.Your body is a road map of your journey through life, every physical, emotional or mental scar, stretch mark, birthmark, all tell a personal story. The road of yoga is endless - it all starts with a pose and a thought, and expands into a never-ending path of self discovery and growth. I value each and every person who joins me in this path towards a better quality of life.

My Classes

Life often pulls us away from our center, leaving the mind, body, and spirit out of balance. Yet our inner temple can always be restored with presence, movement, and breath.

Each class is crafted to realign your energy, strengthen your body, and open the doors of your inner wisdom. Whether you’re beginning or experienced, we honor four pillars: alignment, deep breathing, stillness of mind, and listening to the body’s truth in each moment.

I’m continually inspired by the transformations I witness, and it is a blessing to guide even a small part of your journey.

Please take a moment to look at my weekly schedule, and feel free to contact me for any questions or to book a session.
